Winning the Talent Battle: How to Build a Magnetic Brand

In today’s healthcare landscape, candidates evaluate employers the same way they evaluate hotels, restaurants, and service providers. They form strong impressions long before speaking with a recruiter, and those impressions determine whether they apply, respond, or stay engaged. Rural and community hospitals face unique challenges in this environment, often competing against larger systems with bigger budgets and broader brand visibility.

This insight-packed session will show healthcare recruiters, talent acquisition leaders, and HR teams how to build a magnetic employer brand—without needing a large marketing team. Attendees will learn how to assess their digital first impression across Google, Facebook, LinkedIn, and job boards; how to translate culture and recognition into compelling content; how to identify the right talent audience; and how to build a realistic, sustainable posting strategy that highlights their strengths, values, and mission.

Participants will walk away with practical, ready-to-use tools, including a digital audit checklist, content ideas they can implement immediately, and a clear framework for strengthening their organization’s brand to attract and retain top healthcare talent.

In this session, you will learn how to:

  • Evaluate their facility’s digital first impression and identify factors shaping candidate perception.

  • Apply the core principles of an effective employer brand across digital platforms.
  • Implement recognition-based content practices that attract talent and support retention.
  • Map their target talent audience and craft message themes that align with ideal candidate motivations.
  • Develop a sustainable content and posting strategy to maintain a consistent employer brand online.
